Yahoo is the perfect antidote to eBay doldrums. For simplicity sake I use eBay as basically a one night close for all or almost all auctions. With Yahoo, my auctions close when they bid/buy.
It's just so neat to get those email notices of another Yahoo closed auction. Another sale just now. Good stuff that just never moved on eBay for no apparent reason. So far no deadbeats either.
I am starting to try stuff here first now too. Some work, some don't. At least I don't go broke trying.

I'm with you - I just posted my first auctions at Yahoo. I sell mostly low-dollar stuff (women's clothes and books) and eBay's fees were killing me. Best of luck to us both!!

I have been using Yahoo for nearly as long as I have Ebay and they are both working for me. I started using Yahoo as I had low dollar stuff that I didn't want to pay Ebay listing fees on.
I wish you both luck and patience. It sometimes takes much of both on Yahoo. I am selling women's clothing, some books and sewing/craft stuff. It all seems to go equally well.
Most of all, have fun!!

I do mostly books too and because it's a matter of catching a willing buyer, the ability to relist without fees makes Yahoo so great.

I like Yahoo better every day too. Sold 7 items yesterday all at the Buy Price. I set a buy price a little higher than the bid price. I am getting a lot of repeat buyers watching for my auctions to start. They take it for the buy price and pay with PayPal. That way they have the item in 3 or 4 days.

I LOVE Yahoo!! IT's working great for me too! Been using it since early June. So far only one deadbeat. That's less than my average of deadbeats on Ebay, for the record.
I too love the fast turnaround. I list most of my stuff as first bid wins. It's fantastic! A lot of my stuff closes within 24 hours of listing!
It's great because I can list stuff for at least a dollar less than I could on Ebay, and usually 2 or 3 dollars less, because I don't have to add fees into the amount I charge. So customers get my items for less money than they would have paid on Ebay. It's a win-win situation.
