Has anyone else noticed how sales lately just seem to come and go, like a cloud burst on a summer day! Summer started VERY SLOW, but by the first of July it seemed I couldnt hardly keep track of all the the stuff I was selling. Then the bottom just fell out again. 1 bid in the last two and a half weeks. RIDICULOUS!!!! Hardly any page views either the past couple weeks. This is my first summer selling on the auctions and I know summers are typical of being the doldrums of online auction sales. My question is when should I expect to see a real pick up in sales?

I have a friend who swears that whining to me jump starts her sales every time.

Consider you have just done the same and I hope you can report back the fantastic results within a day or so.

My sales have just picked back up the last week after they had slowed to a crawl in July--while you were having great sales in July.

There's no LOGIC to it--one person is selling like crazy while another isn't even getting any hits. GENERALLY, overall sales pick back up in September after everyone recovers from buying school supplies.

If you really need to move some stuff, put it on "First Bid Wins" with your bottom dollar. Be sure to put the shipping charge in the listing, though, or you'll get all the TRUE cheapskates who get a steal from you then whine about the shipping charge.

You know the past few weeks I have tried "1st Bid Wins". Only one sale from that!!! I have not lost my patience. I just miss the extra money in my freakin pocket!!!

VM- ROTFL!!

Can I whine to you too? Not that my sales are SOOO bad, but just because I'd like to test your theory!

Incidently, I too noticed a slowdown in my sales. It was basically due to my own stupidity though. I copied & pasted some old auctions directly from you-know-where, complete with HTML links to pics loaded on our website, & completely forgot that I had to upload at least one photo straight from Yahoo. Whoever said that not being in the gallery was "death to your auctions" had it right on the money, honey! At least I HOPE that's why the stuff isn't turning over! Guess it is time to cancel & resubmit those auctions after all. It's the perfect opportunity to add in the PayDirect option anyway...
