I have been selling on Yahoo for about 7 months, and I'm very happy with it, I also sell on eBay. I am Canadian, and my problem with Yahoo is that my location is abbreviated to Ontario CA, so a lot of U.S. buyers think I live in California of course. This can be a problem with postage costs. I have written to Yahoo 3 times asking for help, so far I have been told how to list an item, how to leave feedback, and a nice letter thanking me for my suggestion (what suggestion)! I like Yahoo, but I find it impossible to contact a "person". Does anyone know how I can get them to put CANADA as my location? I feel like I am deceiving buyers.

Can you just put at the top of your ad something like: And now direct from Ontario Canada, I bring you this GREAT auction! And end with something to the effect "and remember to write for postal rates if you are outside of Canada. (and put your e-mail there)

Something like that?

Selling at YAHOO requires a lot of "duct tape". My catch all phase for having to patch things together or find work arounds.

I expect in time there will have to be some fee(hopefully small) to support the customer service requirements.

Until then, I accept the more barebone accommodations, the lower cost and make do.

The support and shared experience of other sellers is a big help and is starting to remind me of the small town, help your neighbor attitude that I was losing touch with at the Big E.

Please add you request to the "Wish/Want List" thread and hopefully it will be read by YAHOO or communicated thru the MAM dialogue.

amber,

Sign into Yahoo, click "Account Info" (upper right corner), at "Address/Contact Information" click "Edit", put your street address, city, province, zip code, then put "Canada" in the "Country:" box. Click "Finished". You should see your correct address now on your Yahoo ID Card page, and your auction listings should also say Canada.

Thanks for the suggestion granee, I tried doing what you said, but again Canada is abbreviated to CA. So I have put Canada in the State/Province box, now it comes up as Canada CA on the aution, I just hope there is no town called Canada in California. I will also try the suggestion of putting it right in the description, it just makes it even longer to list, you would think there would be a simpler way. I appeciate the help!
