What is the lag time for Yahoo once someone has bid on an item and won for it to get forwarded to the seller? I had a customer e-mail me with a few questions and I answered them and he said that it was a deal that he would go ahead and bid on the item (first bid wins deal). I have checked several times and no one has bid on it yet? Has the person been blowing smoke, or is there that long a lag time?
thanks Bob.

I think your bidder is probably blowing smoke or has changed their mind or something else. I have never noticed that kind of lag time from bidding.

Thats what I was thinking too. It would have been my first sale, but oh well, there is always somebody else out there too.

Good question...I've had the same thing happen and thought "tire kicking" However, what slays me,is they put 1st bid win auctions on WATCH!! Now, either they want to see if it is still there, or, they don't understand that it SHOULD disappear once it is bid....dunno....

Usually there is little lag time from a winning bid to your being notifide less then 5 or 10 mins but yahoo has been haveing trouble the past Three days.
this morning I have been getting forbidden errors trying to view my own auction listings and if I am getting this buyers are too so they cant make there bids but in all this troulbe my personelized yahoo booth is still working great if you have set up your personelize yahoo booth make sure you use its URL in all your mail to buyers so they can click this link and get there bids in.

Even when there IS a lag time for emails notifying the buyer and seller of a winning auction, you should STILL be able to see the status of the auction (whether it's open or has any bids) by putting the listing NUMBER in the "By Item Number" search box on Yahoo Auction's search page.
With "First Bid Wins" Auctions, people sometimes put it on their Watchlist if they haven't quite made up their mind, since a bid is an absolute committment to BUY the item from you at that price. They'll often check for a better price elsewhere before placing their bid.

I believe all of you are correct in your assumption about the auction. The person that said that it was a done deal said that he was going to go ahead and bidon it at that time and never did. So I will wait and see..... If he doesn't maybe someone else will. If they do it will be my first sell on Yahoo! or any other site for that matter, cause I will not put one on greedbay for the simple reason all my stuff is high price new electronics and software and who can figureout there payment scheme for them.
