Ok, so I check the # of auctions I can list this month. It is 1020. I list one auction and it changes to 1013. At this rate I should be able to list about 200 auctions till my total is 0. Who is doing their math for them, 1 auction = 1 auction I thought. No feedback had been left while I listed the auction, and no auctions ended or relisted. It has been doing this for every item I have listed today. Listed about 4 items and lost 20 on my performance thingy. What gives???

Hehehe, nah. My auctions aren't that great. I figured it out I think. I have auctions ending with no bids with autorelist, so when they end they are autorelisted and don't show on my closed list. The points are then deducted automatically. I am guessing this is the problem???

If your closing auctions are AUTO resubmitting (and you're not doing it MANUALLY), they shouldn't reduce your listing allowance NOW.
The auto resubmits should have been taken off WHEN YOU FIRST LISTED THE AUCTIONS. Everyone else's were.
If you're putting "two times" in the auto resubmit box when you list today, you'll lose THREE points for each one you put on....one for the listing and one for EACH auto resubmit. But that's still only a loss of 12 for 4 listings you put on today, not 20.
I'd keep track of it, and see if it's corrected later this week when Yahoo gets back from the holiday and (knock on wood) gets their act together. LOL

All the auctions I put on "two times" auto resubmit when I listed them EARLIER IN AUGUST, BEFORE the program went into effect on the 28th and they started counting.....will now be DEDUCTED FROM MY TOTAL as they come up for resubmission throughout this month.
I should have ENDED ALL MY AUCTIONS between the 28th and 31st while I had 1000+ to use for those 3-1/2 days, and started them again on the 31st, so all the auto resubmissions would ALREADY HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF and debited to my August allowance. Instead, they'll be deducted from my limit THIS MONTH as they roll over.

When you list useint auro resubmit 2x the two extra relists are subtracted at the time you submit the frist time.
if you get the 2 credits back if it sells the frist time I dont know.
at this rate you will be able to list 325 auctions auto resubmited twiceadding up to 975 item leaveing room to list 25 one time. with a 1000 limit.
or 1000 auction listings in the month list once for up to 10 days each.
this was the biger part of there idea with the listing limits buyers yelling stuff is being listed week after week and many of the same item there been listed a year or two with no bids isnt it time for a freash new change

Come on folks just listing something until it sells is not an auction!
Auction: A public sale of property to the highest bidder!
If you have no bidders apparently not an auction!
Very rarely have I ever stood in an auction crowd where the items did not sell!
Except for discontinued computer junk by the pallets full! Which normally you can offer the auctioneer a $1 a pallet, which they except so they do not have to haul the stuff away!
If you leave something listed long enough at an exuberant price if the supply runs out ten years from now you may get what you are asking!
I wonder how many of the folks here actually have run a store?
I can see where the on line auction format would be a good supplemental income for a store for the days where one might not make a sale at all! They have to pay the bills!
It appears in some areas the inventory supply is unlimited and it is how many times a person can SPAM the merchandise listings to block out any of there prospective competition!
This is what has been done on Yahoo for over two years now!
It is going to boil down On Line Stores and Classifieds with a fee for stuff people want to leave sit for ever!

warr, how would I know if an item will get bids or not? I've had no bids on some items, relist about a month later and get 26 bids on each item. It's a matter of when the demand develops. Unfortunately, demand doesn't work like clockwork like you suggest. You have to find the right bidders on the right day at the right time, this may take several relists to find right the market.
In live auctions they often start at retail, then work the price lower, then when bids start coming in, the price goes back up. Online we don't have the luxury of changing our start price as the auction progresses to find the bidders, that can only happen as a relist.

the answer to this is NO. Someone got a response from Yahoo.
I made some listing mistakes tonight.
I was relisting for 2 X so by the time I got the auction listed correctly I was down by 6! Happened 4 times, I am wasting ammo here. Dud firecrackers strewn about.

Warr, you're right, if there are no bidders, it's not an auction. Thing is, that's Yahoo for you! If you have an auction with a crowd of bidders, you'll get bids. Yahoo doesn't have a crowd, right now at least. Some stuff does have to sit there for a while to get noticed. That doesn't mean it's overpriced.
As far as running a store, you might say that Yahoo sellers have chosen a store with little traffic, but low overhead.

warr----don't agree with you at all....I changed most of my auctions to 1st Bid Wins.....can't get ANY more cooperative than that! All of them are below book value. The real POINT here is there are NO bidders. I don't call 3 Views an auction. Yahoo is turning this whole thing into mush....with their crazy format, they confused the sellers, bidders and now, we have just figured out what the heck they are all about and they pull an "ebay" on us. It may not be "just a dollar" but nonetheless, they AIN'T on our side.
Shame on them for blaming all the relisting on the sellers!! If ebay was free-- 80% of the stuff would sell at least by 3rd relist. On Yahoo, because they know ZILCH about marketing --- they are putting the squeeze on us with this dang "try to guess how many auctions we'll let you list now" jazz.
FREE means free ----but now, here comes the fine print------ Doubt Yahoo will ever go down in history as a great auction site. They sadly seem to specialize in mediocrisy.
Sorry, but had to vent on this one. I'm usually very good spirited

ioughta
Folks view these pages as an Auction which they are no longer as most seem to agree!
Advertising under the guise of an Auction is misleading if not misrepresenting to the prospective buyers!
Change the title to Yahoo Store and you may not receive your three views per page!
Incidentally I usually receive a quite a few more views then that!
Always look for other venues as I have for over two years now and will continue to do so!
I will list the few auctions I run on Yahoo and be satisfied with my usual $100 plus a week for free and never even use my 1044 listings! I don't have to cry about 1000, since it is more then adequate for FREE!
In ADDITION:
If Yahoo fixed the PHOTOS ONLY viewing the way it used to function prior to end of August upgrades? Your number of views may increase along with sales also!
They do not seem to care about that either and neither do the folks using the service!
