I'm currently running 175 auctions a week elsewhere and thought about moving a large portion of them to Yahoo. Before making the plunge I figured I'd browse the site for a week or 2 and do some bidding and study how sportscards have been selling there.
Once I place my bid, the fun ends because it asks for an email verification. My correct email is listed and I cut & paste the code from my confirmation but keep getting rejected saying the code does not match the email address.
I've called customer service 3 times and after repeating my problem to about 5 or 6 people each time [including a supervisor], I've been promised that they will look into it and email me to keep me informed.
Well it's now been 2 weeks, 3 calls, 15 people who I've had to repeat the same story to, and 3 people at Yahoo who promised to help resolve the problem and remain in touch, but fact is I still cannot bid.
It's no wonder that many of you are complaining about slow sales. If bidders can't get their bids in and the customer support is as pitiful as my first experience has been, bidders go else where.
It's totally discouraging and disappointing as I've lost out on the chance to bid on about 15-20 auctions that had things I was very intrested in bidding on.
I haven't given up yet, but if this cannot be resolved soon I doubt I'd move 125-150 auctions to a site that 1. has this much trouble placing a bid and 2. has such poor customer service.

You can't use "Yahoo" and "fast" in the same sentence (unless there's a negative between them, like "Yahoo is not fast to respond"

Try signing in to Yahoo under your user name, click on "Account Info" (upper right), give your password again. You should see all your "profile" information, including your Yahoo! Mail Address and Alternate Email 1 with "primary" next to one of them. Does either email say "unverified"?
If so, click the link to have ANOTHER confirmation sent to your email address and try it.

Thanks granee. I did as you said and the correct info is there with my alternate @aol.com address listed as my primary.
But still no luck. I've received about 30 confirmations at my aol address and I still cannot get anywhere in Yahoo. Iguess it's a glitch on their end but that doesn't ease the pain.
After 2 weeks of this nonsence I'm really getting frustrated. I've lost out on the opportunity to bid in numerous auctions and no longer sure I want to move my 150 auctions a week to a site that not only seems to be a pain in the @$$ to place a bid, but it's the customer service that really ticks me off.

At least, you got a person, I got so many machine generated answers I just gave up
complaining about my problems. Or maybe the
help at yahoo is machines (old gum machines or
some such)

Try this: If you don't already have a Yahoo email address for your user name, make one, then under "options" have all your email there FORWARDED to your AOL address. Make your Yahoo email address your "primary" address. Then see if you can bid.
If THAT doesn't work, I'd REGISTER ON YAHOO AGAIN under ANOTHER user name and start from scratch. Maybe you can get a different account set up that won't have glitches.

Hi again granee,
Thanks again for so diligently trying to get me up & running on Yahoo. It's more then Yahoo itself has done for me.
I'm currently set up with the email just the way you described and considered re-registering under a different ID but I really wanted to try to keep the same user ID and password that I have on my other auction sites so it's easy for my customers to find me....
I'm not really sure but I think the problem is that there I may have registered more then once and there may indeed be 2 open accounts with the same info.
I did explain this to the service rep but still 2 weeks later no change in status. I still cannot bid.
