I placed a bid on an item then subsequently asked the seller if the item is an 'original'. The seller replied no, it is a copy. According to Yahoo, a bid can only be canceled by the seller. I have asked the seller to cancel my bid 2 days ago yet it still shows as the high bid. The auction is closing today and I don't want to get branded as a 'deadbeat', nor do I want to steer away others who may have decided my bid was too high and decided to pass.
Is there any way a BIDDER can cancel HIS/HER bid on Yahoo?
Thanks ...

I believe that only the seller can cancel a bid. I would email the seller again and post a comment in the auction itself (only the seller sees the comment until he replies) and state emphatically (but not rudely)
"This is a reminder that I asked you two days ago to cancel my bid on Yahoo item ####. It looks like you may have forgotten. My bid might be scaring off other bidders who would have placed their own bids. Since I will not be completing this transaction, please remove my bid. Thanks."
