How do I withdraww funds from my Yahoo Pay Direct account to my bank checking account?. I don't see that function..all I can do is move money from my regular checking account to my Pay Direct account.

First you have to REGISTER your bank account with PayDirect.

Once that's done, under "Move Money" you should have CHOICES in the boxes that say From Account" (when you click the "down arrow" put PayDirect there), and "To Account" (click the arrow and put your bank account there).

I'm thinking of signing up, but have heard so many negative comments on PayPal and others, I'm still only thinking about it.
How satisfied are you with PayDirect? Is it worth to take the plunge?
Thanks
Heike

I like paydirect much better then I ever did paypal. I switched over a few weeks ago and have been very happy with how smooth and professional the system has been. Unlike Paypal who is fairly new to the internet Paydirect even though fairly new is run by Yahoo has been around for a few long time and has been very successful. They took time planning out Paydirect and they don't change things at a drop of a dime like Paypal.

Yahoo put paydirect in their whole system to make it easier for people to buy at Yahoo shops and it is not little online mall I guess one would call it, but quite extensive. The have the big name retailers there. As a side they are also letting us use it in the auctions. Giving us the benefit of Big Business. Yahoo doesn't need to suck the sweat and blood from the little businesses because the big businesses are paying the way. To me it was very much worth the plunge. However, I did a little research first. If I would have done the same with paypal (besides the message boards) I never would have signed up. Paydirect it safe easy secure. Once and awhile just like Yahoo auctions it runs a little slow other then that I can see no drawbacks.

One other benefit they have for the sellers which was a key business point for me is they allow no charge backs. Allowing me the seller if I ever need to decide if a customer gets their money back not paypal!

I don't think the "no charge back" will hold as that is totally against Visa and Master Charge regulations. Of course using PayPal or PayDirect puts a third party in the middle, but I don't believe it will ultimately flush with Visa and Master. I certainly wouldn't count on that.

You are correct in that anyone can initiate a charge back on any charge made. However, before the chargeback is ALLOWED, you have to have a good reason. When you use a third party company like paypal or paydirect, your credit card charge is made for the transfer of funds. Once those funds are transferred as you requested, the credit card transaction has been fullfilled and is complete. What would be a good reason to allow a chargeback in this case? "I didn't receive the merchandise" - You purchased electronic cash and you got it. "Item not as described" Electronic cash is just that, there is no other way do describe it. You got exactly the electronic cash you requested exactly as it was described. As far as the merchandise you purchsed with the electronic cash, that is a completely seperate transaction that has nothing to do with the credit card! That would be the same thing as me going to the bank, getting a cash advance, purchasing something with the cash that I was not pleased with, then initiating a chargeback on the cash advance! That will never fly.

I no longer sell on ebay, and am moving to Yahoo. On ebay I used PayPal, and I can't say I personally had any problem with them. Although, I always made sure to take my money out each time it reached $100.

Kinda a pain, but with all the bad talk about them, I always felt that I couldn't be too safe.

Can anyone tell me any reasons I should not click the "I Agree" box on their signup form?

Thanks much!!

Ahh you guys think you are so smart...know it all ehhh. Well in this case thanks I feel really silly hehe. That drop down menu sure fooled me

Not many of my customers are using Yahoo Direct, many still prefer Paypal tho'.. I guess it takes time. Right now 80% of my sales go through Paypal & the other 20% are checks and money orders. I am still feeling my way around Yahoo Direct. Just at 1st glance, Paypal looked much simpler. Less tabs.

For some reason Yahoo set PayDirect up to have the recipient "accept" or "decline" the payment before it goes into the account. Other than that, it's pretty simple once you learn where every "function" is located.

I think that many of Yahoo's sellers who now accept only PayPal's service will begin to DROP PayPal and sign up with PayDirect instead. (I'm really surprised to look through the auction listings and see SO FEW sellers accepting PayDirect.) After all, PayDirect is still free (where PayPal is forcing "upgrades" to fee-based accounts), and PayDirect is integrated into Yahoo's system. Besides, once buyers register their CC with Yahoo in order to BID, it's not much more trouble to get a PayDirect account.

OK---I tried to sign on with YPD and it SAYS already have ID etc, and it brings me to Yahoo wallet...I did the thingy there for security key....now, I go to register with YPD and it brings me to wallet again...to sign up there....I ALREADY DID!

When I first signed on as seller, gave my CC# , I now have 2 bank accts. and used first one when I signed on- so they have that one. However, no matter what I click----it brings me to "sign on for wallet"!!!!

The last time about 2 moths ago, I tried to get YPD---it was malfunctioning so gave up.

Somebody give me the ABC'S here?? I feel kinda "duh"---and have signed on to zillions of things before...."double duh"

ioughta, I had that same problem. I just closed my browser and started another. Problem went away.

I personally like paypal better right now. The only bad thing about paypal is the fees are high and they are getting higher. I already had a business account so the forced upgrade had no effect on me. Although yesterday, a customer was only allowed to pay $300 on a $450 bill. That is why I signed up for pay direct, to get the other portion. Now, I will see how it works out as I am going to use it as an added option to my auctions.

I am also waiting to see how long it takes for money transfers. Paypal usually takes 5 business days for me. Even longer to add funds from a bank. I guess switching from paypal to pay direct is like changing girlfriends.

Does pay direct give an option like paypal's web accept? That option has made a lot of sales. Its like a slot machine. I just come home and pick up money. It would be perfect if Pay Direct had that.

rudy13,

PayDirect just introduced some new features, including giving the seller the buyer's address in the payment info. You can put a LINK to your PayDirect account on your website (sign into PayDirect and click on "Payment Tools" to generate the HTML). You can also send buyers an invoice to pay you through PayDirect.

As far as the money transfers....all I can tell you is that my PayDirect funds are getting to my X.com bank account FASTER than my PayPal funds are (I swear it's true), even though PayPal and X.com are the same company.

I've signed up for PayDirect. How long does it take for them to verify your bank account? If I want to get my money out, can I request them to send me a check like I did with PayPal? I'm so confused by all this. Can someone walk me through the steps I am to take after my auction ends. I see on my closed auction pages there is a link to send to the buyer that says "Send PayDirect Bill". What if the buyer doesn't want to pay with PayDirect? Should I send them an email too saying they can pay with MO or check? Sorry to sound so duh here, but I'm a used to be blonde that has now turned gray.

bopkh - I just write in my EOA that "I accept payment by cc via Yahoo Paydirect or please send payment to blah blah.."

I am getting paid via paydirect about 80% of sales.

I haven't listed a bank account with them yet, and probably won't, so I wasn't even aware they verified them. If you have a credit card or debit card, they can credit your funds to your card. That is the way I withdraw mine and takes less than a day for it to post to my bank account that way and no need to wait for a check.

Also, if you want to send a paydirect bill for every auction, you can and it is very easy to do with your Yahoo auctions. If you do, I would also send another e-mail giving all of the information and all options for payment.
