Hope all is well with you all! Can someone tell me - I always use the Yahoo image loader but went into A/Watch and it has gotten so ultra-cybersonic that I'm lost! Where in the heck do I "add image to an existing auction"?? I used it for ebay a long time ago - but does Yahoo still accept add'l images - other than the (3) allowed??

Thanks for some help here

I have tried & tried to add more pics but have been unsuccessful. Do you have web space? If so the best solution I can think of is to put your additional pics on the your own web site with a link in the auction to the pics. The other way I have been able to work around the limit (sometimes) is to scan several pics onto one page, and then use the page with several pics as one image. (hope I explained that right.) This is only effective for certain things since Yahoo resizes large pics into small ones when you upload them; you lose detail to do it that way.

I have been very frustrated by this myself. :/

You don't have to add the images by uploading to Yahoo. You can upload them to your own web space and display them in the item description.

edited to add...

From Yahoo help:

How to use HTML to create links to additional online images:

If your images are already up on another web site, the easiest way to display them is to link to them directly by adding a line of HTML code in your description that points to that web site's address, and looks like this:

Example:<img src="http://www.yoursite.com/images/desk.gif">

Beware - even if you link to photos on your own web site, there is still a 3-pic limit per auction. PayPal logos count as one pic, as does an offsite counter such as Honesty or Ruby Lane.

In other words, there is no way to add more than 3 pics per auction.

On Yahoo! I have many three picture auctions, along with a PayPal logo AND the PayPal verification seal. According to your comments that would be five picture counts? Maybe you are talking about auctions posted to Yahoo! from here, or some other site? Not directly on Yahoo!.

The three pictures are full size, normally 350 pixels by 225. These are not small, but easy for viewers to download. I have heard others claim the logo counts as one picture. But I have never experianced that problem, and as I said I run two of their logos on every auction.

hmmmmm.... CharlieOne, it's possible that they've changed something! I originally tried the three pictures plus PayPal logo back in July or August. The auction would load and launch with three pics, then when I went to PayPal to add a logo (at that time you had to do each one at the PayPal site individually), I got a message that I had exceeded my photo allowance, and the logo would not load. So I changed it to a text link and didn't try again.

My apologies for offering outdated information.

Silkmoth, I thought the exact same thing. I must have been outdated too.

If you will go to the PayPal site in your account. They have all of the PayPals available with the HTML text to copy. Add that in your auction description, NOT as a picture upload, and you will get the logos with your three pictures.

If you want the logo above your item description, add the HTML logo before your text desrciption. Of coarse, if you want it below your description, add it at the end of your item description. Before the logo I add the centering HTML code, (for those who may not know HTML it is <c>, at the end of the logo text add </c>. Then after that add <ul> to separate the description of your item from the logo, otherwise the logo will mess up your item description.

In case I am confussing those who may not know much HTML code, here is an eample of what I mean, (logo at the top>:

<c><PayPal logo text></c><ul><item text</ul>

Want to add verified seal above PayPal logo? It would look like this:

<c><verified seal text></c><c><PayPal logo text></c><ul><item text></ul>

The </ul> at the ends are not necessary, unless after the description you want to add another paragraph. If so, you would add <ul> at the end of the above, and start another paragraph.

Hope this helps you. If you run into trouble, just post back here, and I will answer back next time I'm on here.

Thanks everyone-- I'll copy the advice here and see if I can do it. However, it STILL appears no MORE than 3 images, right? Excluding the PP copied html.

Somewhat frustrating when front back top and bottom are so necessary to a product. Oh, well..at least the headings are nice and loooong-- I love that!!

CharlieOne, I see that the procedure has indeed changed. The earlier procedure added the PayPal logos as a revision to auction after the auction had launched. Now, you add them as you launch the auction. I'm still not sure how the graphics show up, but in some fashion PayPal is not linking back to an offsite photo.

In my case, I've stopped offering PayPal so that issue doesn't affect me.

ioughta, one thing that you can do is to combine two views of your product in one JPG file. Open the two photos you want to use - side and bottom views, perhaps. Let's say each photo measures 250 x 250 pixels. Then create a new, empty file 500 x 250 pixels. Click on Photo #1, copy, click on New File and paste. Then do the same for Photo #2. Now you have both photos in the new file. Save the new file and use it instead of the two separate photos. You can add more than two views to the new file, of course, but remember that the larger the file, the longer it will take to download.

I have 3 pictures loaded through Yahoo along with 4-5 banners using html coding(PayDirect--both large and small, ExchangePath, BidPay and EnergyFlow) in my ads. They have not been a problem, but I have just started listing on Yahoo in the last 2 months.
