VM--it is all your fault!

I didn't like Yahoo! auctions, but I decided to try them. I read the newbie threads and asked questions and now I am RUINED for Ebay!

I have a higher end item that I wanted to run on Ebay and just couldn't bring myself to list and waste all of that money on FEES!

I tried Yahoo! and now I am just plain SPOILED!

~Not labbie1 on Yahoo, but I wish I was!~

Well I am happy. Had an auction close and the guy sent me the money even before an EOA.

Even though I'm an ebay Bronze Powerseller I sell alot of items on yahoo auctions because I think as a general rule yahoo bidders are less savvy than ebay bidders, i.e. yahoo bidders often pay ALOT more than ebay buyers. Case in point: I sold an item on yahoo auctions about a week ago that would have sold on ebay for about $325, at the very max $375 - but I received a little over $800 on yahoo! That's why I love yahoo

Getting paid before sending an EOA is a major problem with PayDirect, I've had 4 of these, and the buyer doesn't wait to know the shipping cost, just pays the auction amount, and the has to go back and try to pay the shipping costs, and this has caused ENDLESS problems.

Many of our items are too heavy to quote a cost till we know where the buyer is living, so we can ship UPS - so for us PayDirect is a pain in the derrière.

I strongly encourage my buyers to use PAYPAL, or call us direct with their credit card information. We have just experienced too many problems with PayDirect.

AND aside from the above, when some strange address all of the sudden appeared in our PayDirect account as our e-mail address I was doubly unhappy.

Regarding sales on Yahoo - I LOVE YAHOO - as someone above, being a power seller on eBay, it took me a while to adjust to Yahoo, but when I did - we sell tons more than we ever did on eBay without the hassles of eBay, the ever changing rules, and the constant outages....

I YAHOO!!!!!!!!

My sales on yahoo are nice and consistent - the length of time you can afford to expose an obscure item is a BIG plus.

-- I would like to remind all Bi-sellers (ebay & Yahoo) that when you contact your ebay winners, you should enclose some small note or email line that tells them about both http://auctions.yahoo.com and http://auctions.yahoo.com/booth/(your id)

That small gesture will help spread the bidders around between the two sites. I believe that eBay buyers need to be educated to look around.

Hi, Labbie!! How's it going? I have the same affliction-just got back from a buying trip, and found some real goodies. But I just can't bring myself to mess with Ebay!

bearmom Isn't it something? The thought of the fees just kills me!

I list fewer and fewer things on Ebay.

jwoodcrafts In some cases I don't get as much for the item as I believe I would on Ebay, but that is offset by the lack of fees.

The one thing that I do miss is the "sleeper" items. You know, the things you thought you'd be lucky to get $5 on and they zoom over $100? What a rush! I haven't experienced that on Yahoo yet.
