Don't get me wrong. I'm a PayDirect Seller and no long accept paypal...I think we all know why! BUT...

I sure wish PayDirect (Y!PD) would simplify some of the workings. Why do I have to go in and accept the payment? I don't see what benefit there is (maybe a "big brother" thing).

I'm also using the credit card on file from my original set up months ago to Yahoo! Wallet when I began selling to have my money transferred to since I haven't received a credit card statement yet I'm not sure how long it's taking for credits to appear but should know soon!

I never send a buyer a Y!PD request for payment unless they have requested it. And I offer to do so in my EOA for them (and me) that works best!

The $200 limit for new Y!PD users has been a little bit of a problem, but the benefits of still being FREE I can live with that!

I understand you like PayDirect - I personally only use it to accommodate the rare buyer who wishes to use it, I love PAYPAL - I prefer fast, clean transactions.

BUT I agree with you regarding PayDirect and, the hoops of having to accept a payment, of people wanting invoices, is ridiculous.

Time is money, and I see no reason for all these "steps" to accomplish what I do through PayPal in my one letter of congratulations.

As has been addressed in other threads PayDirect also needs to address the lack of shipping being included in many payments apparently due to their odd format.

As far as the "accept/refuse" thing goes, I have found it to be quite useful. I have had several customers submit multiple payments accidently and it was quite convenient to be able to accept one and refuse the rest. Also, when PayDirect eventually becomes fee-based, it will be good to be able to refuse partial payments, like if the customer leaves out shipping charges or whatever. It seems like partial payments are driving some PayPal sellers nuts right now, and some of them are even amending their TOS to add a 25¢ fee if the buyer screws up & pays via paypal in 2 separate transactions. Being able to refuse partial payments would save them that aggravation.

CAgrrl I agree with you.

PayPal should really take a hint on the accept and refuse payment thing to save on charges. Oh wait! That would save on charges! Sorry!

ROTFLMAO LAbbie! that's funny!!

Plus there seem to be quite a few people who don't seem to appreciate the feature...with that in mind I doubt they'd adapt it.

Thanks for your opinions. I agree about the acceptance now a great safety feature.

Since my original post, I've received my first credit card statement reflecting my "move money" transactions and they are posted the day after I made the request! Yahooooo! I'm a happy camper...

jwpc,

Okay I'll wave the Yahoo! PayDirect banner and you can wave the paypal one. Honestly, I thought they were great when they first started and had them used for tons of auctions, used them to pay for auctions, and like the additions given for sign up bonuses. I guess it was too good to be true that they would always be "fast, free, and secure". But since:
I don't want to give them access to my bank account,
don't want to pay approximately 2% on transactions, and
don't sell outside the US anyway...these changes are the reason I'm using Yahoo! PayDirect. I'm getting more using it all the time.

And when (now less often), I get the "Do you accect paypal?" question asked, I state... that I am not raising my prices to accept it, if you wish to use you may pay the 2% transaction fee. However, since you are already register with a credit card to bid on Yahoo! Auctions why not let me send you a request to pay with Yahoo! PayDirect?

P.S. And start saving money by asking the Sellers who do offer you paypal for a 2% discount to pay by another method!
'ladele' here only

edit because I attempted to use a for bold but it just appeared as a and in text so I removed (still learning!)
