Is it just my imagination, or are Yahoo buyers quicker to give poor feedback than Ebayers?

Two years on Ebay, 1,000 feedback, 2 negs. Three months on Yahoo, 200 feedback, 6 negs-4 retaliatory. I don't think I'm doing anything different, still pack the same, ship as quickly. I got one today for NOT taping a puzzle box shut! Most buyers would complain about tape on a puzzle box, as it is hard to remove without damaging the box.

Excuse my venting, but I really want to know if this kind of thing is common. It seems like I see a lot more sellers and buyers with a high number of negs, and it really bugs me!

On E-bay:

853 positives. 600 are from unique users and count toward the final rating.
7 neutrals. 4 are from users no longer registered.

3 of these were from me for responses to bidder who got the boot!

0 negatives. 0 are from unique users and count toward the final rating.

On Yahoo:

feedback 52 with 91 total and no negatives!

Only negatives received on either were from a buyer who never paid on E-bay and were converted to neutrals when they got the boot!

I have found on both sites that not all buyers/sellers post feedback!

I have posted over 1300 on E-bay! I have also had to post negatives their, but must have been legitimate, since the only retalitory were from the one who got the boot!

I still have new users ask me how to post feedback, so I belive that is part of the problem! Folks not knowing how and some I believe are embarassed to ask!

I dont think they are faster to neg on yahoo.

In the past I have found yahoo buyer with problems are more likely to neg before they work problems out directly with the buyer.

Well, as I said, 4 were in retaliation for posting negs. I don't get spiteful, just 'non paying bidder', but that seems to be all it takes. The other was just a misunderstanding, but this one today really upset me-she never even contacted me, just posted! I collect old jigsaw puzzles myself, and nothing makes me more irritated than tape on the box, so I would never have even considered taping it shut.

I still maintain that yahoo buyers on average
are younger and less realistic.
I can't understand why yahoo allows any response to a non paying deadbeat rating.
Some of these people get upset when you tell
them not to leave home without their mother.

Use good ole common sense, if you have a puzzle and you do not want to tape its box shut, what do you do?? YOU wrap the box in saran wrap or put it into a baggie then you Tape shut. Common sense.

My limited experance on Yahoo as a seller tends to agree that they are quick to give a neg and never attempt to work out a solution.

My first sale on Yahoo recived a neg feedback (although I have never had one on e-bay)... They never attempted to contact me, so I contacted the buyer myself after the neg, and offered to give them their money back if they wished to return the item.
I never heard back from them.

So I ask you... What was up with that ?

In my 5 years on eBay and now almost a year of Yahoo, I can say an unenviable YES - Yahoo buyers do respond with negative feedback faster than eBay - I think some of it may be that the buyers are less experienced, some of it may be the age range, and the fact that you can (if you allow) go on and on with a feedback war on Yahoo, where it is basically limited on eBay. I have a 470 rating on Yahoo with 5 negatives, some of which made no sense. I normally don't even respond to a negative as it only creates more fussing. I just put "my feedback speaks for itself." and leave it at that.

I think the MAJOR problem is that there is no hard rule on Yahoo if you get so much negative feedback you are suspended - Yahoo doesn't police that area as well as eBay. BUT I LOVE YAHOO!

I have never had a neg on either site.

BUT I have to say that when shopping Yahoo I have come across the ugliest feedback catfights ever. Part of this may be because you have unlimited opportunity to say what you need to say on Yahoo, unlike on Ebay where you're limited to one line & 1 response. On Yahoo 2 people can keep going back & forth all month long if they want. I think this is a good thing. I've never needed it, but I'm sure one day I will- after leaving a glowing positive for someone you can still return & write "CHANGED RATING- the check bounced!" if you ever need to!
