I have written to everyone I think of about this and still going in circles. I have tried clubs, I have tried every support corner that I can think off. No one seems to have the answer to this and further more Yahoo won't even write back. I list and feature in Yahoo Auctions. I know I'm new. I have signed up for Yahoo wallet and Paydirect. I cannot access my billing summary. I go to options, billing summary and this is what I get: Could not access db. Site temporarily down or bad userID

I get no choices to put in my other security password. This makes me nervous, they have my credit card but I'm not able to access this account to see what I'm spending. I can't even see what I've spent on featuring or what items I have featured. I really wanted to give Yahoo a chance as I've moved here from Ebay but at this rate I'll be going back. I know it's expensive there but at least I have control of my accounts. I have never been able to access this account and it seems that they don't care.

Sorry for venting but this going on 2 weeks or better.

I appreciate your frustration and think it is justified driley43. If you are still determined, you can try to see your situation in wallet by going to one of your auctions and clicking "feature it" and then right above the box where you type in the amount you want to spend there is a link "check my balance".

This is the path I use, to be honest I have never went the route you describe so don't know if it works now or ever did.

If you are checking for credits - you will not have any unless you wrote to apply for them during the promotion. I am sorry it has been so hellish for you, I really am.

Thanks for your reply. I tried what you suggested and get the same thing: Could not access db. Site temporarily down or bad userID

I think my only hope is to get someone from Yahoo to help. I can't believe that not one person will get back to me.

I just went to see if system was down, it is not, and it works fine for me.
First: Log In
.Second: Click Options on Upper Right
..Third: Click Billing Summary
Thats all that is required.

I am logged in, but thought what the heck and logged out and logged in again. Same thing. It's me and why? Like I said I list auctions and features and it wouldn't let me do this if I Hadn't signed up.

I don't have any problems either. How much do you have invested in the id you are using driley? Do you have feedback? I am wondering if you might consider scrapping it and starting over.
At the risk of sounding overly cosmic, which of course I am - perhaps the universe is trying to tell you to take a different path. Away from Yahoo, maybe, or maybe you just need a new identity. Everything has energy after all and maybe the id you are using is sink-y as opposed soar-y...

Honestly, you sound net knowledgeable, I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I sell with 3 id and set them all up without any hitch at all, so I know it does not always go like you describe.

How about startingover2001 for an id, or "pleaseworkformeyahoo" and see what you get. At this point it sounds like you have nothing to lose. If you go this route and you fall right in the groove, I guess you can consider it a sign.

driley - are you using a cookie program???
That'd do it.
I have to turn off cookie pal and put in my security code and then back on with cookie pal.

I am not changing an ID that I have had forever.

well it sounds like of the options they offer "bad user id" is the problem. The site is not down and the database is accessible. Thing is that if you ever do get a hold of Yahoo, they will probably tell you to re-register. Maybe grapey will show up. I know she went through this when she first came to Yahoo.

If I reregister what am I reregistering? How will this affect my auctions? Do I have to do everything..Yahoo, Paydirect, Yahoo Wallet Where do I even start.

Why is it so hard for anyone from Yahoo to get ahold of me?

remember your registration for yahoo auction and yahoo wallet registration are two different accounts and two different password.

your yahoo wallet will not be set up till you get the confirmation email from yahoo in this email is a comfirmation number you must enter to confirm your account before it will be open in the letter they send is a link to click that will take you where you need to enter the number.

you will be able to get into your wallet after this to see balances and credit in a week or so you will also get snail mail from yahoo with another cofermation number this one to confirm your mailing address.

If this isnt enough security if and when you use paydirect to receive payments the frist time they will ask for your SS # and and even more when you try to move money in and out of paydirect they will send you email that they have made two small deposit in your bank account and they need you to call your bank get these deposit ammounts and put them in to confirm your bank is receiveing payments from them.

This is a lot of xsecurity and a long road to go but I assure you it still hard to get inside fort konx then it is to get in yahoo wallet and make all the features work

driley - I wish I knew something better to tell you. The trouble with Yahoo getting a hold of you is that they have more than 100 million users worldwide and most of them have a question.

If it were me, I would start over with a new id. I understand this is not what you want to do. I think the lack of response (not from Yahoo, but off the boards) is because no one has any other idea to offer. The database IS available and the site IS up. No one knows why your id isn't working. This most likely includes Yahoo if you did manage to reach them. I don't think someone is sitting there with a magic reset button. Something is corrupt.

If you go the change your id / register route, you would register a new account from the beginning which should go without a hitch, meaning it should take about 3 minutes.

After it was all set up, you would have to move your auctions and abandon the other id. In other words, cut your losses. It is one thing to persevere, and another to bang your head against a wall until it is bloody.

Here, try this phone number during Mon-Fri business hours:

(408) 530-5151

It's not very visible, I had to root around and go into my Wallet account *billing summary* to see the number displayed. If you are locked out somehow you might be in a Catch-22 for contacting them! I've had to call it a couple of times and have found the employees answering it quite helpful on account issues, including credit card verifications and such.

Thanks for all the support guys. Yahoo did e me with phone # yesterday. I called and they had me set up new security key which as you said is dif than my regular id still no go then I called them again and they said as long as it says I was successful after completing instructions for new key everything will work. WRONG still same. Like I said everything works except billing summery. I'm stubborn and will get it. Someone mentioned Grapey, does anyone know how to get ahold of her?

I'm the type of person that has to know why when and where! By the way my head isn't bloody yet.

What I don't understand is it doesn't ask me for a password to view my billing summary so what is the problem?

Hi Roomies!

What happened to me was completely different. My ID had 0 feedback. I tried for over a year to get in to use it and emailed Yahoo over and over. I never received even 1 reply.

Finally, I made up a new ID. Actually, I just added a Y to my present ID and re-registered and it went through fine.

About 6 months after that, I was digging around and found that my original ID had been completely deleted. So, I registered it again and it took.

I never did figure out what had happened and to this date, I still have never received any email, advice, or direction from Yahoo.

So far this is what I figured out today. I am not locked out. I went and featured an item and it asked for my security ID and it went through just fine and said it would be put on my credit card. So what it gets down to is I can't access my billing summary.

Oh Oh! Try this. Go in to any of your auctions. Click on "feature this auction". Right there you will see, "Check my Balance". Click on that.
