Just got this e-mail from PayPal on their new FREE auction Site:

******************************** Subject: PayPal Auction Opens
Date: Wed, 06 Dec 2000 09:29:18 -0500 Status: Normal
From: "NoBidding.com" <[email protected]>

Members,

NoBidding, Inc. is proud to announce the opening of AuXpal at http://www.auxpal.com.
AuXpal is a brand new auction site developed especially for members of PayPal
and is completely free to use. We are excited to say that AuXpal is the first
and only auction that offers automatic payments on all completed auctions.

That's right...at the end of every auction, the payment is processed instantly.
Funds are transferred from the winning bidder's PayPal account to the seller's
PayPal account within minutes of the auction ending. There are no extra forms
to fill out, no waiting period and absolutely no hassles. The days of asking
"How would you like me to pay?" have ended. Sellers don't need to worry about
"deadbeat bidders" anymore.

Please join us by visiting the site at http://www.auxpal.com

As always, thanks for being a loyal member of the NoBidding.com family of websites.

President, NoBidding, Inc.

I wonder how long this "Free" will last? Probably will work great for them, they can freeze everyones accounts much easier this way.

CharlieOne ROFLMAO!

Give them time...it won't be free much longer if it takes off and does any business at all! Besides, you have to have a PayPal account...nuff said...

This site is not affiliated with Paypal and may be a fraud looking to get your PP Id and password. Why do people accept anything that says FREE? Haven't you learned already that the FREE things and the most expensive? Go right ahead and send me your PP ID and password, your credit card info - after all it's FREE!

WOW! Should we be grateful they are hi-jacking us sooner now??
How thoughtful- I'm touched (literally!)

I have written PayPal, and the AuXpal group to find out the actual relationship, if any. "IF" I get an answer, I'll post it here.

Since we are avid users of PayPal, the idea of such a site appeals to me - BUT I didn't think about the password thing, and only posted a couple of auctions to test the system.

Will await a reply from PayPal today as to their relationship with AuXpal. Since with a business account one has 24 hour phone access to PayPal, I'll phone them regarding this if I don't hear via e-mail soon. I have always had good success in getting through to PayPal via their toll free number and getting a fast answer to my questions.

Will let you know what I find out.

I have already done the above plus cancelled my auctions on Aux.Pal. I admit, this time I leaped before I looked! Now we all know I'm not perfect!
