An item sold yesterday at the buy price. I tried to send email and it came back that it was a bad address. The same thing happened again today. Of course both users are new. Has anyone else been having this problem? Doesn't Yahoo send an email to check the address? Thanks! Melanie

Hi Melanie,
What happens a lot with (new) bidders to Yahoo! is they get a Yahoo! mail account, or change their e-mail address for other reasons. They forget to update their contact info, and Yahoo! is sending you their old e-mail address.
As mentioned here on other threads. You can click on to rate them, post an 'average' rating, and tell them to e-mail you about the item, that you don't have their current address. They should do this anyway when they don't hear from you, but most don't.

Thanks Charlie! That's just what I did. I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.

Something is wrong here--too many of us are having this problem. By any chance, did the bad add end in @Netscape.com????
I did everything to reach my bidder (in the f/back section + wrote to Yahoo who hasn't ans'd)
I just went and re-read YPD mail that the winner has paid me by YPD-- and THERE it was, the CORRECT (I hope) add. BUT not mailing address!
This is scary - if they are screwing up the address - what about our pmts???

You can try reaching these bidder by trying to send email to them the user name @yahoo.com
Many people who register to use yahoo auctions already were useing yahoo for other things like email before they registered to bid on auctions.
Usually there auction user name and there yahoo email will be the same also you might try to look up there yahoo profile useing there yahoo auction username use messangers find a friend feature many times they have alternate email addresses even phone numbers and snail mail addresses in there profile.
If the email was a netscape email address you might also try find a friend feature in AOL messanger and also ICQ useing there yahoo auction user name.
If you cant find there ifo this way to contact them I would leave a neg and move on.

Whyizzit Sorry but neither of mine are Netscape addresses. I have left comments in their feedback and in that private comment section. I'll also try @yahoo.com. I just think it is funny that they are both new users.

WELL-- finally got a reply from Yahoo saying:
Yahoo is only are responsible for the add the bidder gave at signup time. IF they changed since then - then that is a problem - try sending msg in their f/back
Seems to me- they KNOW about this problem and cannot fix it! Otherwise why would they tell me to try through the f/back?? HOW can a bidder CHANGE their registered email add after giving their CC?? Beats me!
This looks like a HUGE YPdirect problem here... Now, I have the money, transferred it to my bank -- and nowhere to ship.
Only place left to try is Yahoo Msgr-- maybe they will be online and I can send msg.

I previously used Yahoo auctions, I had 3 good experiences, but I've had at least 6 bad experiences, from bad addresses, to people not sending their money to people backing out of auctions. I strictly use Ebay now.
Currently, I have an item that I've been waiting since early Nov. for the payment, the guy answered my first email, said he forgot and will send the money, hasn't answered the last two emails.

One of the buyers got a hold of me because of the feedback message. She sent me a message from the same bad address. I still couldn't get one thru to her!? The second one (of course the expensive one) hasn't contacted me. I have tried leaving a message if they have any auctions listed. I guess I better give up on this one! Melanie
