This may appear stupid, but I have wondered, "what is the purpose of a Yahoo Booth," and why would one create one, and more so why would a buyer go to one?

I considered doing one, but then couldn't think of a good reason to spend the time doing it.

If you have a Yahoo Booth, I'd like to know why you created it, and what advantages you know or think it gives you.

Thanks!

It is the place I link from my website so that people can see what I have on offer.

It takes a buyer to MY auctions with a design that follows the theme of my webpage.

All my listings start with a 3 or 4 letter code. I created a Yahoo Booth simply so that I could add this sentence to the top of my listings:

To view listings by type of item and by industry/theme, please Sort by Title.

I may not be able to do anything about the Yahoo's jumbled category listing order but I can make my listings well ordered and easy to search.

Great thinking Irene - boy I envy your type of mind. I sell with 3 names to accomplish the same thing the hard way.

Verymodern:

I do find that using the codes do result in multiple item purchases as a buyer can find similar items grouped together and can quickly skim over groups of items in which he/she has no interest.

Unfortunately, I still have to depend on a bidder's willingness and PATIENCE to move through my listing pages in sequential order (I have around 11 pages - and hope to increase that soon). I really wish that Yahoo would have a "Go To Page ___" function in the Yahoo Booth similar to what they have for sellers in the closed auctions. If a buyer is looking for titles which begin with "r" for example, he/she now has to scroll through several pages to reach those listings.

Thanks Irene.
I link mine from my home page.
To shop X click here, to shop Y click here...
I never have more than 3 or 4 pages per id. I use Auction Tamer to have them all on one list for my own ease.
I am used to this and it works - I just never in a million years would have thought of your way to manage this.

I have a yahoo custom booth and I have 2 domain names with my domain names I have the ability to point to sub or second dairy site in or at my domain I Point my Domain to my yahoo auction booth and then list this in all the search engines and add links to other web sites.

My auction booth URL is listed on most search engines and spider. I have two domain name two pointer URL

http://auctions.dman-n-company.com

http://auctions.dman12123.com
These URl will redirect you to my yahoo auctions.
Very effective for advertizeing yourself and not yahoo and there auction them selves.

These URLs look more impressive and professional on a business card as well as on banners where even else you choose to advertize your aution sales.

The color backgrounds for some reason make your thumb nail photos sharpre and stand out more clearly and all buyers dont have to look at the standard drab yahoo yellow and white all the time.

Oh, okay I see what you are doing - I just direct buyers of a given category of items, for instance if I am listing a lamp, at the bottom of the post, I just put the link to my web site with lamps - or if I were selling tea carts, I would put a link to my web site with tea carts, so I guess I am doing the same thing, just not using the booth.

Thanks for the explanations....

Our booth is featured as a "Featured Seller" on the Sports Cards and Memorabilia category page. It has been really successful for us and we have a lot of repeat customers who have obviously bookmarked our booth page. It has also allowed us to build a reputation and put some branding behind the items. People know or feel that they're buying from a legitimate outfit and not just an anonymous seller.
