I have had a problem with calculated shipping. The specific example is a 78 pound item. Oversize 1 was selected but when an item is over 70 pounds, the UPS calculator in worldship automatically bumps it up to oversize 3. Vendio's calculator apparently does the same but does not display it. It is not possible to have a 78 pound item that is oversize 1. The limit is 30 pounds for oversize 1 and 70 pounds for oversize 2. Oversize 3 bills at 90 pounds. The jump in cost when going to oversize 3 is substantial. Vendio could help reduce the likelihood of this type of error if the entry did not allow oversize 1 for items under 30 pounds. Also a display of the cost of shipping to the seller's zip code would give immediate feedback of the minimum cost of shipping which could allow the seller to correct overly high or low shipping charges.

Now the question becomes--How can I edit the calculated shipping charges once an item has listed? If I were using eBay's calculator it would be a simple matter to adjust the parameters. I cannot find how to change the calculated shipping for an active listing. Thanks.

Hello,

The dimensions and information used for shipping calculations are editable from Vendio while the ad is live. You can add a verbal edit to your ad stating that shipping will be a little highter than the calculator will reflect.
You can also go to the item and edit the calculated shipping information in Vendio, while the item is live and it will reflect in the checkout after the items closes. You can edit the WBN from the Post Sale Fulfillment Checklist, or you can edit the inventory item itself.
If the buyer notices, or has not been warned, they might be surprised, but you will collect the proper shipping amount.

Best,
Abe

Are you saying that if I change the shipping weight in the inventory item, the calculated shipping a customer sees when they are using the shipping calculator in my current eBay item listing will also change? I have tried this and it did not work. It did not even update pending listings.

Where does the shipping calculator in the eBay listing pull the item information? Is it buried in the html? I looked and could not find it.

Hello,

No, if you change the shipping information it will not change the calculations of the shipping calculator. Thats why I suggested that if you do make a change, you may want to "add a verbal edit to your ad stating that shipping will be a little highter than the calculator will reflect." The calculator on the Ad will not change, but what is calculated in the Vendio Checkout, will reflect your changes.
The info used for caculation while the ad is live is not editable, in accordance with eBay's policies about what can be changed on an ad once it is live and what can't.

Best,
Abe

I am sorry but when using eBay's calculator it is possible to edit the numbers used for shipping calculation as long as there are no bids up until 12 hours before the auction is to end. It would be good if Vendio offered the same flexibility.

I understand that I can add a comment to the description but that is not a good solution. So to correct a mistake in the shipping calculator all I can do is cancel the listing and relist it. And I also must delete all pending listings?
