Hello. The calculators are new since I was with Vendio before. Could you give me instructions how I can set up my account defaults and ebay site specifics or choose among these edits for calculated shipping for individual items in SMIE so that all three of these things will happen:
1)The Vendio shipping calculator that is set up to agree with the Vendio checkout appears in my item description for the customeer to use, and
2)The ebay calculator that does not always agree with the Vendio calculator does not appear in my listing and ebay will not insert it anywhere in their section at the bottom, and
3)When a customer searches and pulls up my auctions and sees the shipping it says either calculated shipping or see item description, but never "not specified".
Sorry I still find the necessary settings for this a little confusing. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi. No rush, but I don't want this thread to disappear because I still need the answer to this whenever someone gets time. I can't afford to have customers encountering 2 different calculation systems for the same transaction, especially with Vendio the more expensive of the two. The bidders won't understand it is more accurate based on measurements. If they think of ebay as the standard, it will look to them like Vendio's checkout is unfairly overcharging them by comparison. Unfortunately, you can't have all of those options.
The *only* way to get eBay to say anything other than 'not specified' is to select the option labeled 'I AM specifying eBay shipping and payment details.' - and in doing so, you need to actually specify said details.
You will need to either list it where there is no eBay calculator and the search page says 'not specified' - or you get it to say 'calculated' and include the eBay calculator as well.
Anything else would be sorta flakey workarounds, where you enable the eBay shipping and payment details and say your specifying a fixed cost, then list both one fixed cost and your calculated options for the Vendio checkout. This isn't really a useable workaround, but I wanted to mention it just in case you know of a way you could make that work for you personally.

Hi Christopher. At least now I know why I wasn't able to make it work. I agree. That particular workaround is about as flakey as having the customer encounter two different calculators in the same auction yielding different shipping totals.
This is a significant bug for the customers who simply want to know what the calculated shipping is if the seller offers calculated shipping. How are you all at customer service advising Vendio checkout users to interface with their bidders on this? I hate to have to put a big note in my descriptions to apologise for the Vendio calculator and why they should prefer it just to avoid driving the customers nuts and generating lots of unnecessary emails. It makes me and Vendio look less professional when customers tend to not like third party checkouts anyway--just one more burr under their saddles to irritate. I already have to put lots of extra stuff in to explain and justify the checkout etc. even for fixed shipping. Every glitch Vendio presents to the customer trying to make a purchase just drives them away.
Any possibility Vendio could implement an additional option for the Vendio sellers to use a calculation done the same way as ebay's checkout?

Sorry I forgot to ask this. Could you check with the coders and either post or email me the section of code I would need to remove to get the Vendio calculator out of my listing description without messing anything else up? I wouldn't be able to use the Vendio checkout, but at least my customers would have only the ebay calculator with one calculation in the listing to deal with.

Hello,
Are you running into actual problems with different amounts showing up in the two calculators? They should calculate the same, unless you are offering a shipping markup through Vendio Checkout (then the Vendio calculators are going to look different). We have tested this a number of times.
You don't have anything active in your Vendio account -- do you have any active items right now with the calculator? When you list new items, you can make sure the Vendio shipping calculator doesn't show through My Account > Global Preferences, and unchecking the option near the top to insert a calculator.
