Why is it that whatever font I change to red, or high light turns black when posted to Ebay? What am I doing wrong?

I prepare my items with a highlighted bold title. Each subtopic is in bold red and underlined.

I use comic sans font.

I schedule my listings to launch on Ebay. When I go to Ebay to view the listings, all of my "pretty" description has changed to classic font all black!

This is getting really annoying, please please please someone help, customer service as not responded to my request.

Hello,

Could you please let us know one of the listing numbers where you had this problem, so that we can take a look?

I just replied to the reply that you just sent us. We did receive your initial message on the 11th and had replied at that time. It looks like you missed the reply. Please try scrolling up and/or down on the support request page and you should be able to see our replies. (Or just let us know one of the listing numbers that has the problem and we will help you here.)

Regards,
Nathan

Here is a recent listing:

Ebay Item #: 320696447791

Vendio #: 1304872324188

I have also noticed that often when I post a listing to launch when I save, they do not always launch. Just today I tried to launch this one twice and it still has posted to Ebay:

Vendio #: 1303965006246

Hello,

I was able to see the problem with the font color, and I have asked our engineers to take a look. We will let you know as soon as we hear back from them.

In regards to the other problem, please note that you can view the error message for a failed listing by going to "Channels" --> "Marketplace Listings" --> "Errors" --> then click the "Error" link to the right for the details. In this case, the specific error message that eBay is returning is:

"A return policy must be specified."

In order to correct the problem, please edit your "Policies" profile in order to specify a return policy.

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

I wanted to let you know that I have heard back from our engineers, and they have a work around for you in the meantime. The problem is related to how eBay reads HTML code. In order to work around the problem, please go to the description section in your Vendio inventory item. Then click the "Source Edit" button at the top of you description. You will then be able to see the HTML code. You will notice that your font is being shown like this:

"Comic Sans MS"

Try removing both instances of the """, so that it is shown like this:

Comic Sans MS

However, from what I can tell it looks like you are creating your descriptions in Word or another program, and then copying them into Vendio. What also might work for you would be to create the descriptions entirely from within your Vendio account. Please note that creating them elsewhere, then editing them after placing them in Vendio would not correct the problem (unless you are editing the actual HTML code as mentioned above).

Regards,
Nathan

Well if I must create the description in vendio, is there a place to store a template so I don't have to rewrite all the information every time? I will be doing hundreds of listings a week. Also, please tell me again how to turn off third party checkout, I can't find the email that I was told. Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,

You may create a custom template for listing to eBay by going to "Items" --> "eBay Templates" --> "Custom Layouts" --> "Create New".

However, an easier option for you would probably be to create one inventory item to use as a template. Then create a copy of that inventory item and edit the copy in order to create the new item. You may copy an inventory item from the "Items" --> "My Items" page by putting a check mark in the box to the left of the item and click the "Copy" button at the top of your list of items.

In order to locate the instructions on turning off eBay checkout from within your Vendio account, please go to "My Vendio" --> "My Vendio". Then look to the right under the "Announcements" section and click the link for "eBay Checkout Migration - Things you can do to get a head start". Please let us know should you continue to have trouble with this.

Regards,
Nathan

Ok thanks, I created an item titled "sample" that I can copy and use. My latest listing shows on Ebay correctly.

Another question: how can I get my items to show on Vendio in order of date, the latest one on top? I don't see an option for that.

Intuitively, I would expect the newest item to be right at the top of my items list but once I list, it seems to disappear into my items according to no specific order.

I have to search for a key word to relocate the item. why is this?

Also, does Vendio charge their own Final value fee?

Thanks for all the help!

Hello,

You can control the sorting order on the My Items page as needed. Look for the little recycle looking icon in the upper right corner of this section, just under the 'view options' menu. If you click this you can reset the grid sorting, which by default places the most recently edited item at the top of the list.

As for the payment plan your enrolled in currently, you can see a breakdown of your plans on this page. There is a more detailed breakdown of the fee policy available here as well.

Regards,
Chris
