I have been using the Vendio Shipping Calculator in all my listings for awhile now. I just noticed that it doesn't jive with the USPS calculator for Parcel Post. An example would be a package I consider large/oversize as it is over 1 cu ft. I choose large package from the drop down list when I create an auction, I put in the dimensions (16" by 14" by 12" and the weight (7 lbs 15 oz). I do a full preview on the Create Listing page and enter a random zip code to see what the shipping would be and then compare it to the USPS website with the exact same dimensions and weight and zip code. The USPS website shows that the cost will be what Vendio considers a regular parcel, not a large/oversize package. So somewhere on the Vendio site, it's adding a surcharge on Parcel Post when you select Large Package/Oversize 1. I don't want to chase potential buyers away with what looks like overpriced shipping if I choose the correct box size. Basically for now, I will just choose Package/Thick Envelope/Parcel and enter the dimensions as it shows the same cost on the USPS website for both Parcel Post and Priority as Vendio. I don't want to have to double check this everytime so could Vendio techs check into this issue? I read somewhere on the USPS website that they did away with surcharges on packages over 1 cu ft sent Parcel Post.
Thanks for the reminder, it does look like this behavior needs to be changed for the USPS calculations - your also right in that you only need to enter the dimensions and choose regular package as it will determine automatically the rate needed based on size/weight entered.
