Hi, have been trying for several months now to click on the "stay logged in for 7 days" box. I click on it but I can never stay on for more than a day or two at the most. Have to keep relogging in. Please advise what the problem might be and how I can get around this. Thanks, Steve

Hello Steve,

This usually happens if your browser is not set to keep the Vendio cookie (or if the cookies are deleted -- either manually or automatically). Please check your browser settings to be sure they are set to accept Vendio cookies, and not to delete them, and let us know should you continue to have trouble with this.

Regards,
Nathan

Hi Nathan, my browser is set to accept cookies. It works on every other site except Vendio.
Also now a new problem. An auction I listed last night does not have the gallery picture. It is listed as cyberageart/scrooster1.jpg. There is some kind of message saying that they could not put it on. Now the first picture is there which is the same as the gallery picture so I do not understand why it didn't go on. Please see if you can fix it. I tried by putting in the URL but it didn't work. Thanks, Steve
The auction is listed as French Majolica St Clement Rooster Pitcher.

Here is the way the auction that is missing the gallery picture is listed

OLD FRENCH SC MAJOLICA POTTERY ROOSTER ABSINTHE PITCHER (290414312028)

Please fix the gallery picture if possible. Or if you can't do it please show me a way to do it on ebay. I tried with the info they gave but it still didn't go on. Thanks, Steve

Attached is the email received from ebay about the missing gallery picture. I have tried every trick I know of to put the picture in including "Revise Auction" and putting the entire URL in. Nothing I do seems to work. Please try to fix this. I would hate to got through the expense of cancelling and relisting the auction. I know the image is good because it shows in my image hosting file. Please advise ASAP. Thank you, Steve

There's an issue with your gallery picture
Hi voila66,

Hello,

Which of your computers are you using when you run into the issue with the cookie not saving and remembering you to log in with, the Windows XP machine running FireFox 3.5 or the Mac OS running Safari?

----

For the gallery picture issue, eBay is correct in that the picture that they were sent as the gallery image originally is no longer valid:
http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/cyberageart/scrooster1.jpg

If the image you want to use as the gallery picture is in your Vendio account, click on it so you can see the full sized version of it and then right click it to get the properties - which will give you the URL of this image.

Once you have the correct/valid URL for your gallery picture you can use that eBay form to revise your listing and provide the URL for that image.

Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris, the log in problem is happening on both computers. The Macbook with Safari and the Dell with Windows XP.

Now re the missing gallery picture. I don't understand why it is not valid. It is the same picture as the first picture in the auction. So if it shows up in the auction why is it not showing in the gallery? I tried giving the picture a new number but that didn't work either.
Following your instructions I brought up the big image but when I right clicked on it I did not get properties. Got a lot of other choices but not properties. At this point do I have to cancel the auction and relist with new images or is there anything you can do at your end. I renamed the same image scrooster1a.jpg. But that didn't work either. Steve

Chris, please tell me what is wrong with the following URL. You say it is no longer valid. Where does it need fixing. Is it the image name or the whole URL or what. Steve

Hello Steve,

You can verify if the picture URL is ok or not by going to the URL with your browser and seeing if the picture shows up or not.

The first picture in your listing currently has a URL of : http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/cyberageart/scrooster1.JPG

The URL eBay said was bad is: http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/cyberageart/scrooster1.jpg

Notice that the JPG at the end of the filename is in all lowercase in your original image, yet the replacement newer version of that image has capital JPG at the end?

That makes a big difference when eBay looks for the image. I re-saved your image and uploaded it into your Vendio account so you have it with both upper and lowercase letters for the JPG, so when you revise your listing to tell eBay what the URL of your picture is - you can use either of them, they both work.

Regards,
Chris

For your issue with remembering your login on the Windows XP machine running FireFox - go to the Tools + Options menu, then click on the Privacy tab. From here you can check to see if FireFox is setup to remember cookies and for how long.

Once you purge temp files/cookies from the browser, either manually or automatically based on the program settings or any external programs you may use - you will have to log in again.

Chris

Hi Chris, thank you for the fix. I see that the gallery picture is now on the auction. I appreciate your help and quick response. What is weird though is how did the .jpg become upper case letters? I of course did not change it. I just clicked on the image in my image hosting. Since I have listed this item in the past using the same photos it shouldn't have changed. Just another strange internet glitch.
Re the cookies I did go into tools-options-privacy and didn't see anything relating to cookies. No big deal I will just log in whenever I go to Vendio. It's not important enough to spend any more time on it. Thank you again, Steve

ooooops! I see that the gallery picture is now at the top of the auction where it wasn't before. But just to make sure I just pulled up ebay.com and put my seller user ID in and on the listings that gallery picture was not showing. Is it possible that it just takes longer to appear there? Steve

By the way this might have something to do with the cookies! On every post I put in on this recent subject I clicked the box asking for email notifications to my posts. I have not received one. Suggestions or advice please> Thanks, Steve

Hello,

You will still want to use that form from eBay to update the gallery picture, so that it shows up next to the title of the item.
While you can see it show up on the title bar at the top of the listing itself now, where it was missing, that doesn't automatically fix the gallery image - you have to use that form from eBay to do that.

As for how the image got the lower case lettings - it was uploaded that way at some point in the past as it will never change once uploaded. The 'correct' one was uploaded in May of 2009. At some point there was another image with the same name but the different jpg at the end in your account and it was attached to that listing.

As for the email notifications - first check to be sure the email address on file in Vendio is current and correct, then check any spam folders in case they were routed there instead of your inbox.

Regards,
Chris

Hi, did use the ebay form. But the image has not shown up yet in the listings. Perhaps it just takes time. re email address I changed it awhile back so that shouldn't be the problem. Will delete the image with the jpg in upper case so that won't happen again, Thanks for catching that. Steve

Hi Chris, since the gallery image never showed up I just decided to cancel the auction and relist it tomorrow with new pics. I went through my complete list of images and noticed a lot had .JPG in caps. So I deleted all like that and will take all new pics. I was way overdue for that anyway as I have been using the same pics on duplicate items for two years on some of them.
Thank you again for your help. Still haven't figured out the other problem with not getting the email notifications and not being able to stay online for more than a day or so. But that is not a serious problem, just a bit annoying. Take care, Steve
