Lou Boudreau played shortstop for the Cleveland Indians from 1938-1952 with a relatively illustrious career. He made 7 All-Star appearances, was the 1948 World Series MVP, when Cleveland beat the Boston Braves. He had a .295 batting average, and had the unique distinction of being a player-manager at the young age of 24. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1970, Boudreau is one of the game's quiet greats. This card was purchased with a group that someone obviously spent some time and care to gather signatures on player cards. This particular mint condition 1989 Pacific Baseball Legends card #166 actually has a printing error as it shows Boudreau played from 1938-1942 instead of 1952.
