This is one of the most colorful of the Trail of Painted Ponies ceramic horses. Love
As Strong As A Horse, issued
with the 3rd series of Ponies in winter 2004. When Love As Strong As A
Horse was retired in July of 2005, just under 16,000 had been made. This Pony is 2E/4611 from the 2nd edition which only went to
5,921. As a longer term retiree, this is one of the harder Ponies to
find. It is NEW and comes complete with black box, styrofoam and tag.
Similar numbers for the other two Ponies of this model that are included in the quantity in this listing.
Created by Cherokee artist, Jesse Hummingbird, Love As Strong As A
Horse, was inspired by a Cherokee tradition of hanging a mask in the
house for power and protection. The bright colors in this Pony reflect
what he remembers growing up. In this depiction of two couples
representing Spring and Fall, Hummingbird hopes to inspire people to
find their soul mate with who they can share all seasons of life and
discover the beauty and strength of love. Like many of the Painted
Ponies, especially the older horses, the box has shelf wear. This box and Pony have only been opened for photos. There are many places that show this pony when you run a search, but follow the link and often it is no longer available. There are a few 1Es available retail at $150-$175, with the overall limited number of this Pony, a 2E is an excellent and colorful addition to your collection.
