Trail of Painted Ponies Wie-Tou by Barbara Janowitz was issued with the 2007 summer herd. It is signed by Barbara Janowitz and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that this was 247
of only 250 of these first edition Wie-Tou ponies signed that come with a certificate of authenticity. Retired July 2008 towards the end of the second edition, so just under 19,000 of this Pony was produced when this model was retired. Pony number is 1E/4436. It has been opened for the autograph and for pictures.
Wie Tou's story:
Growing up on a Colorado horse ranch across the
valley from her Cherokee grandfather, this artist was immersed at an
early age in both Indian art and culture and the riding life. Painting
horses and Indian symbols on leather helped pay for her college tuition.
It also inspired her to create a Pony whose power lies in the
graphically creative arrangement of assorted spiritual symbols. "I
wanted to include the Spirits that guide and protect us, and every one
I've painted has 'good medicine'."

In keeping with the spirit of the Trail of Painted Ponies, a portion of the sale of this Pony will go to help the World Wildlife Fund to help with the animals suffering in the Gulf states from the oil spill.
