  Japanese Satsuma Vase - Mejii 
C. 1850-1890

The vase is covered in decorative and detailed gold brocade
There are two panels on opposite sides of the vase
One panel shows a group of `5 Samurai Warriors on a hllside
The opposite shows small groups of men, women and children (13 in all)
also on a hillside.  The costumes of all the people
in both scenes are richly decorated with great detail and much gold work
It is not signed but there could be the remnant of a signature on
the bottom.  It is only a small gold fig. and a small red fig.
There is a tiny indent on the rim of the base.  It may have been in the making.
It is only in the blank pottery.
Otherwise in perfect condition, no chips, repairs, cracks or imperfects
This is really a great piece
It is 5-3/4 inches tall the base is about 2-1/4 inches diameter
or 14.5 by 6 cm
