Stunning large etching of a Dutch windmill landscape scene including water way with small boats, castle or cathedral in the background along with stone cottage with double chimneys in the foreground.  There are also  moorings for boats to be tied off on. The windmill arms a bit tattered with some broken sections. Dismal dreary weather day. Bottom right hand is pencil signed Geo Doris, aka George Doris. Far left hand side is numbered H8.  I do believe this is hand colored or tinted as loop does not show any small dot pattern. Matted and framed under glass. Gold wood frame measures 31.5" by 24.5" and the artwork measures 16" by 24" wide.  The frame shows loss of gold finish in several areas with wood being revealed. The matting is darkened from age with some spotting. The artwork is in good condition with no rips, tears, marks etc.

Geo Doris was a French artist from the late 19th/early 20th century, known primarily for creating detailed etchings and aquatints of French landscapes, windmills, and country scenes, often signed as "Geo Doris" or "George Doris," with works appearing on auction sites and in collections. While not a household name, his signed antique prints, depicting charming pastoral views, are collectible pieces from the French School
