Wonderful old antique framed print titled L'Egalite meaning Equality by Louis Simon Boizot, original created around 1794. The image is an allegory of equality, a core theme of the French Revolution. This was likely produced in various forms as well. The female is holding fasces, a carpenters level and a liberty cap. There is even a rooster behind her. This print was sold in Paris by Basser, Rue Jacques au coi de cell des Marthurins, the street address of publisher or seller. The gold wood frame measures 12" by 9.5" wide. The print is 6 by 8.5" tall and feature blue and salmon trimmed matting. The Print is in good condition protected under glass with a few minor spots, very small and from age. The wood frame has lots of gold sliver damage which continues to fall from frame when handled.
