Unknown artist but back has original paper label I believe it reads Academy Board and there is pencil writing below that which is very worn.  Painted on thick cardboard and dated 1899 on the back.  Dark moody woods scene with a huntsman holding his rifle between his knees and he looks to be grabbing for it while a stag and 2 deer look upon him. Mossy dark green forest floor with evergreens in the background and dark cloud filled sky. The board measures 18.5" tall by 24.5" wide. All 4 corners show damage and wear, see up close. Some minor marks in the painting left side running through body of deer. Please see all other images for minor imperfections. Neat old painting!
