Print Distinguished Member of Humane Society Colorized Edwin Henry Landseer OLD
Price: $100.00

|
Lovely antique colorized print titled A Distinguished Member of the Humane Society by English painter Sir Edwin Henry Landseer. The dog has the best story. He was a real Newfoundland dog named Bob who was known for saving people from drowning at the London waterfront. Bob reportedly saved 23 people over 14 years and was awarded a medal and made a distinguished member of the Royal Humane Society. What a good boy! The matting measures 26.5" by 18.5". The print is 17" by 12.5". The matting is in very old poor condition from age, change of color and some ears at the top with dog ears. The print is pretty clean with a small crease at the bottom left hand corner in the blue water section. Some dark marks in the sky as well. See images. The matting is not entirely attached to the paper print.
