Gorgeous set of 1/4 leather bound antique books entitled Hooke's Roman History. We have volumes I through VI which is a complete set.  These are 9" by 6" wide. Each is copyrighted 1821. Each has original owners personal library stick in front cover which is a piece of artwork in itself.  Front and back covers feature brown and blue marbling with dashes of burgundy.  Leather is medium brown with red and black accents along with gold highlights.  These are illustrated with fold out maps. I've photographed a sampling of those maps. The front title pages do show some spotting.  The bindings are good and tight. From top view you can see wear to the back corners, top sections of 2 of the books. Typical wear. Volume 1 has a 50 pages with small dog ear fold on pages 99 to 150.  There are a few pencil annotations within the pages of each book. These books are over 200 years old! Amazing!
