Vintage print on canvas of the wonderful artwork entitled The Blacksmith Shop by John Frederick Herring. This artwork is also known as Interior of a Smithy aka blacksmith shop. Unframed, this canvas measures 36" by 24". The horses are stunning and the expressions on their faces are amazing! The blacksmith is hard at work on the white horse who is draped with a blue blanket. The wife of the blacksmith is standing by with a cup of tea for her husband. The brown horse is quite distraught as he is probably next for the hoof cleaning or shoeing. The artwork has crazing in certain areas on the edges and a sliver of loss of paint on the bottom left hand corner. No rips or tears. Wonderful coloring and aged look. Unsure of age of production.
