This battery is new and will replace the Panasonic CT1220 which is a rechargeable lithium ion 3 volt battery assembly with two solder tabs allowing it to be soldered to the logic board of many electronic devices, appliances, radio, computers, bar code generators, meters, etc.
The logic board of your electronic device or logic board will be able to recharge this rechargeable integrated cell with the necessary 3 volt charge that this battery requires. Once the circuit senses a low voltage on the battery, the circuit will then recharge it up to it's full potential, then the charging will stop when that battery is fully charged. This would be the same situation that would occur if the battery is shorted, the circuit would recharge the battery back up to it's +3 volt condition allowing the electronic device or logic board to resume it's function in maintaining the cmos settings/date/time and sequencing.
