2008 Ncaa National Championship Lsu Vs. Ohio Stat 2008 Ncaa National Championship Lsu Vs. Ohio Stat

    Description:

The 2007 College Football season was full of twists, turns, drama and upsets. It was only fitting that the National Champion finished the season with two losses. Playing in their home-away-from-home, the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, the BCS second ranked LSU Tigers captured the 2008 Allstate BCS National Championship by rolling over the top ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 38-24. With the victory, the Tigers became the first two-time National Champion in the 10 year history of the BCS, adding onto their 2003 title. Like they had so many times during the season, the Tigers were forced to come from behind in the biggest game of the year, trailing 10-0 early on. Led by fifth-year senior quarterback Matt Flynn and two key special team plays, the Tigers stormed back to score 31 unanswered points and never looked back. Flynn torched college football's best defense for four touchdown passes, earning him the game's Outstanding Offensive Player award. After watching LSU tie the game at 10-10, the Buckeyes seemed poised to retake the lead. However, following a dropped pass in the end zone, the Ohio State drive had to settle for a field goal attempt. It was then the game's Outstanding Defensive Player, LSU defensive lineman Ricky Jean-Francois, stormed up the middle and blocked the Ohio State kick. Moments later, the Tigers took the lead for good, claiming their second National Championship in five years, and third in school history. For Ohio State, the game marked their consecutive trip to the National Championship Game, again falling to an SEC school. In 2007, the Buckeyes fell to the Florida Gators 41-14.
