|   The Erie Canal Trading emporium presents The wizard of oz plate collection ******************************** The Wizard of Oz Collectors plate series, 1977 - 1979, was one of the first, if not THE first plate series commemorating a motion picture. The last plate issue coincided with the 40th anniversary of ‘The Wizard of Oz” in 1979. The original artwork was created by one James Auckland, whose claim to fame, at least through Google search, seems to be this one series of plates. The plates, produced by the Edwin M. Knowles China, an American company who trademarked the name of one of the countries oldest China producers, are beautiful in appearance and a wonderful addition to any plate lover’s collection and/or “Wizard of Oz” lovers. All plates are in perfect condition, no chips, cracks or repairs, and have been in my collection since their original issue, 31 to 33 years ago. ******************************** Special Offer: Purchase all 7 remaining plates at one time and receive a 20% discount on your total purchase PLUS Free Shipping. Offer good only in the 50 States and Territories and purchase must be made before December 31, 2010.
******************************** If I Were King is the fourth issue in The Wizard of Oz Collection plate series produced by Knowles China with original artwork by James Auckland and issued in 1978. The plate measures 8-½” in diameter and has it’s certificate of authenticity and original enclosures. In perfect condition, the scene shows The Cowardly Lion as portrayed by Bert Lahr, standing on the Yellow Brick Road, fists up and looking ready to fight, but actually scared out of his wits all the time.   ******************************** The Wizard of Oz Directed by:Victor Fleming Uncredited:
