Here is one of several Wade England Christmas pieces dating from 1995 to 2001. They were offered by The Official Wade International Collectors Club in those years in which I was a member. Limited editions, usually in 1000 pieces or so worldwide, they could be purchased only by members of the club.
This is Christmas Teddy, the Christmas piece for 1997. He stands 4” tall, is in perfect, mint condition and is marked “The Official International Wade Collectors Club – Christmas Teddy 1997”. His girlfriend from 1998 is also up for bid. A very handsome lad. Would make a wonderful addition to your Wade collection or a lovely piece of Christmas porcelain for your curio cabinet or holiday display.
Wade England and Ireland have been making fine quality porcelain, china and ceramics since about 1810. All manor of utilitarian wares have come from Stoke-On-Trent in the United Kingdom. Perhaps some of the most well known pieces that Americans may know are the little figurines in boxes of Red Rose Tea, a staple premium since the early 1980’s. But Wade made much more than that.
