2 L. Godons Famous Floral Landscape Art Prints

Gordon knew he was destined for a career in art from his early years and honed his skills by taking art classes through high school and into college. He also served in the U. S. Air Force, which offered him an excellent opportunity to see Europe. It was love at first sight! While in Germany, he studied at the prestigious Munich Academy of Fine Arts. He believes this old world training has been an invaluable asset in his work. While still in Germany, Gordon experimented with impressionistic painting. Soon it consumed him, and the move to impressionism was complete.
Back in the United States, Gordon worked at advertising agencies. His work often appeared in national magazines, and he was the recipient of numerous awards recognizing his talent. Eventually, he made the move to fine art on a full-time basis drawing inspiration from the time he lived in New Orleans and from his Old Masters studies in Europe. Although he visits many locales for inspiration, his paintings reflect his blending of places he has been and the feelings they evoked. He often builds a composition in his mind by gathering different images and details from sketches and drawings and combining them to create a painting.
L. Gordon's paintings can be found in several fine art galleries across the country. Many paintings can be found in private and corporate collections including the American Embassy in Switzerland, the Anderson Collection, AT&T, Steve Wynn – Bellagio Hotel, Coca-Cola, Holiday Inn, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Saloman Brothers (now Salomon Smith Barney).
As one of today's most successful artists, Gordon also has an extensive list of images that have been popular with collectors in the limited edition art world. The artist joined Somerset Fine Art in 1987 and has enjoyed the prestige that accompanies more than three dozen sold out editions.

Copper's interest in animals led her to pursue a degree in biology, but her passion for art drew her to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting. However, her curiosity about the painting process, and the lack of instruction in the technique, led her to study on her own and to her trademark subject matter.
While visiting Paris, she was amazed at the solid grounding in the “how to” of painting at the great art academies. The artist recalls she was envious and, by fate, during time she spent at the Louvre, she came across a half-finished painting hanging in one of the galleries. Copper discovered the great masters' use of underpainting as the basis for the layers of paint on the canvas. She studied every inch of the work. Thus began the artist's adventure of teaching herself this technique by the Old Masters.
Copper began copying some of the Old Masters and other famous works. Her first painting was of an exotic and romantic early 19th century work of a Turkish harem girl with an elongated body. The artist decided her model's figure would be that of a kangaroo. Delighted with the results, Copper again painted the same subject using one of her cats as her model. With this success, she made it her goal to learn great artists' techniques by copying their works, “possess” a painting by an artist she admired, and create portraits of her pets. As the saying goes, the rest is history.
Copper creates delightful works with her animals in costume and character – from tutus to berets to tuxedos and as Mona Lisa to American Gothic to medieval figures – her portfolio is a wonderful collection of “Old Masters” paintings played out in the animal world.
