A rare copy of one of the products of Franklin Roosevelt's Works Projects Administration (WPA). Legends of the Mighty Sioux was compiled by the workers of the South Dakota Writers' Project of the WPA from stories told to them by the Sioux themselves, often in their native tongue.

Illustration of an arrow on spine and a Sioux chief with headress on front board. Illustrated by Sioux Indian Artists with several full page illustrations and vignettes. Full color illustrated end pages featuring Sioux designs. 158 pages.

Good condition. Wear and fraying of cloth on edges and corners of boards. Light soiling of front board. Stick figure drawn on back board, along with some soiling and several ink spots. Spine is sunned and has a couple of chips (missing cloth). These are visible in the photo if you look closely. Binding is shaken. School name written in front matter. Interior is clean and unmarked.
