Hearts in Atlantis, King's newest fiction, is composed of five interconnected, sequential narratives, set in the years from 1960 to 1999. Each story is deeply rooted in the sixties, and each is haunted by the Vietnam War. 

In Part One, "Low Men in Yellow Coats", eleven-year-old Bobby Garfield discovers a world of predatory malice in his own neighborhood. He also discovers that adults are sometimes not rescuers but at the heart of the terror. 

In the title story, a bunch of college kids get hooked on a card game, discover the possibility of protest...and confront their own collective heart of darkness, where laughter may be no more than the thinly disguised cry of the beast. 

In "Blind Willie" and "Why We're in Vietnam", two men who grew up with Bobby in suburban Connecticut try to fill the emptiness of the post-Vietnam era in an America which sometimes seems as hollow and as haunted as their own lives. 

And in "Heavenly Shades of Night Are Falling", this book's denouement, Bobby returns to his hometown where one final secret, the hope of redemption, and his heart's desire may await him. 

Stephen King's new book will take some readers to a place they have never been...and others to a place they have never been able to completely leave.

 

BOOK CONDITION

This book is in Good Condition* with no obvious damage to the cover. No missing or damaged pages, no creases, 1cm tear in bottom of front cover, and no underlining/highlighting of text or writing in the margins.  It has very minimal wear and tear. Minimal spine creasing and edge-wear, pages are tight, clean and sometimes tanning. 

 

All books in great reading condition unless otherwise stated.

We use Australia Post parcel post satchels to mail anywhere in Australia for a fixed price.  We use the 500g Standard (Red) Parcel Post Satchel for purchases of books under 500g and the 3kg Parcel Post Satchel for larger books and multiple purchases.  We encourage your selection of the 500g Express Post Satchel for the added security of parcel tracking.

The 500g satchel costs $6.00 and holds 1-2 standard sized paperbacks.  The 500g Express Post satchel costs $8.40.  The 3kg Parcel Post Post satchel costs $10.30 and holds up to 8 standard sized paperbacks. 

Please note - If and where available I do prefer to send items via courier for the added door to door protection.  If the service is available I will do so at no additional charge to you and your item is signed for on delivery (guaranteed)!

All books are bubble wrapped to safeguard them from getting damaged, free of charge. 

Overseas shipping is more expensive, so please contact me if you require a quote for international shipping.

I will send your item(s) the following business day after receiving payment.  The delivery time may increase during the holiday season.

However, please note that whilst all care is taken, I am not able to accept any responsibility for loss or damage which occurs during shipping.  I will gladly arrange for Registered Mail for an additional cost please email me for quotation.
