American Notes is a travelogue by Charles Dickens detailing his trip to North America from January to June, 1842. While there he acted as a critical observer of these societies almost as if returning a status report on their progress. This can be compared to the style of his Pictures from Italy written four years later, where he wrote far more like a tourist.
His American journey was also an inspiration for his novel Martin Chuzzlewit.

This was a limited edition published Christmas, 1970; Raised boards with "B O Z" with a gilt flower at the center of the "O", American Flag on the free end paper in the front and the Union Jack on the free end paper in the back the front and rear end boards show cloud sketches; Oblong 32mo 4" - 5" tall; 274 pages.
