The backpack has one main pocket and 1 smaller pocket on the front. It is very light-weight.  It has one mesh- pocket on the side for a waterbottle and a small velcro pocket on the strap to hold a cell phone or i-pod.  The shoulder straps are padded for comfort and are adjustable for your little student.  Perfect for kindergarten and elementary school. 

Backpack measures 12" wide/across at bottom and 16" tall/top to bottom  and 5" deep.

Front pocket measures 7.5"x9.5" x2"
