This is a 1999 Epiphone Dot semi-hollow guitar in excellent-to-outstanding condition. I'd rate the condition to be 8.5 to 9.0, in fact.  There's evidence of wear on the pickguard, of course (typical swirl scratch marks), but other than normal fret wear (very light marks that can only be seen when held up to the light at a certain angle) there are no scratches, dents or dings or any other mars in the finish that can be found.  I've also upgraded the headstock with quality Grover tuners, to align this model year (1999) of guitar with the recent Dots that come standard with Grovers (back then, Dots came with a slightly lower-quality set of machine heads).  Of course, recent vintage Dots come out of China, while this one was made by Korean craftsmen :-)

According to the Guitar Dater Project website, this guitar was made at the Samick plant in Korea in March of 1999, and was number 0816 in that year's run of Dots.  The guitar exudes quality craftsmanship, in fact, and it delivers that classic semi-hollow sound, using its twin humbucking pickups to help a guitarist play everything from country to rockabilly to blues to jazz to seriously hard rock.  The Dot really seems like it can do it all.  Specific features of this guitar include:

-  Double bound maple 'F hole' body (laminated)
-  Maple set neck
-  Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays
-  22 frets
- Engraved "Gibson" truss rod cover at the headstock
- Grover tuning machines
- Dual chrome covered humbucking pickups
- 2 volume, 2 tone control knobs
- 3 position selector switch
- Chrome hardware throughout
-  LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece

This guitar is a great example of what Epiphone can do for Gibson ES-335 style guitars.  Fret edges are smooth and it's had a recent setup.  It also comes with an original Epiphone plush-lined hardshell case specifically made to fit only ES-style guitars, and it's also in excellent-to-outstanding condition.  Everything looks good, and all latches are sturdy and in good working order.  If you'd like more info or pics on this guitar, contact me through Ebay or my email at:  [email protected]
