Linda's Serger Coat is created from only 3 pattern pieces in a choice of 2 lengths. Instructions are given to finish edges with a choice of 2 different serger stitches or a purchased binding. It is a very loose fitting coat in 2 lengths with a shawl collar. The pattern is graded up to flatter the larger sizes. The shawl collar is designed as an extension of the coat body, turning back to show the reverse side of the fabric. Make certain you like both sides of your fabric.

60” wide fabric creates a coat with no side seams in the XS to LG sizes; XL to 3XL will have a side seam. Suggested fabrics are wool melton, Polar Fleeceô, Ultrasuedeô (with a side seam), terrycloth or robe fleece (beach or bath robe), a blanket (Woolrich makes a wonderful blanket), or other 58-60î wide double-faced fabric.

You will understand many uses for differential feed as you make this coat.

Dritz #53043-1” shoulder pads for a drop shoulder or raglan sleeve is recommended. You can order these if your store does not carry them.
