This unit is made especially for the Honey Professionals (Beekeepers, Buyers, Producers, Bottlers, etc). This unit uses ambient light, so no battery or power source is required while in good light (strong indoor lighting or sunlight), and with a click of a power switch, an internal light will give you an internal light! Use as necessary to save your batteries!
Wipe off with a soft cotton cloth - old T-shirts work wonderfully. Clean with distilled water to remove tacky residue after use; this minimizes the chance of sample contamination down the road.
Models with the “ATC” suffix are equipped with “Automatic Temperature Compensation” for accurate measurements without recalibration after shifts in ambient working temperature (field use). The HONEYfractometer DOES have ATC.
