Kicking off San Francisco's Indian summer is a new signing to Grayhound: Loveslap's Charles Spencer. An accomplished musician, Charles has worked with some of the Bay Area's finest house names including Jay J, Miguel Migs and Mauricio.

But this is Grayhound! Branching out from the loungier house that has defined his Loveslap releases, it's the filthier Spencer on display here and he's rockin' in the classic way that only serious musicians do.

'Carlton Hotel' emphasizes the musicianship without getting buried in solos. The bass and beats are soulful but chunky.

On the flip you get two alternate versions of a different track. 'Beats and Tings' brings live percussion that flies with added stabs to give it shape and substance.

'Beats' is the stripped down version. As the title suggests it's all live percussion but syncopated to a tight backing track. Useful mixing tool for the jocks.
