OHIO CHINA Company O. C. Co. Limoges Porcelain - Vintage Decorative Dish w/ Gold Trim

Description:  You are bidding on a vintage shell-shaped decorative porcelain dish, produced by the Ohio China Co. formerly of East Palestine, Ohio in the United States, sometime during their production years of 1890 - 1912.  The O. C. Co. was one of many porcelain manufacturers located in Ohio, who used the 'Limoges' technique of porcelain manufacturing.  Note: in the 20th Century, the French Limoges company disputed the american manufacturers' use of their name.

The shallow porcelain dish features a shell shaped outline with scalloped edges set atop a footed base.  The interior of the serving dish features clusters of small, pink rose carnations flowers and shrubbery set against a pale green background.  The interior of the vintage dish has sculpted folds and ridges which terminate at the edges into a number of swirl shapes, which were originally finished with gold trim highlights.

The kidney-shaped base of the asymmetrical porcelain dish is stamped with the Green Backstamp of the Ohio China Co, the text is arranged to read from top to bottom:

PORCELAIN

Research on the the Ohio China Co. Porcelain manufacturer of East Palestine, Ohio indicates that the piece was probably manufactured between 1890's and 1912, the years in which the business operated.

Dimensions:  12.25" Long x 10" Wide x 2 1/8" Tall - these are maximum dimensions, weight before shipping: 1 lb. 12 oz.

Condition:   Pre-owned, fair condition.  Much of the gold trim has worn off of the edges and along the sculptural swirls. Portions of the floral design are faint.  There are crazing marks over all of the background of the vintage porcelain dish.  On the underside, the green logo is faded, and there are (5) obvious chips around the edge of the dish.  See the 2nd photo, for one of these chips, along the top edge of the dish.

These chips are NOT visible from the presentation side of this elegant porcelain decorative dish. There do not appear to be any repairs.
