FORT DEARBORN/ NEW COUNTY BUILDING

Antique Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon

(c. 1911-1920)

Spoon measures 5 1/4" with "STERLING" hallmark on back stem.

This fine crafted antique souvenir spoon depicts images of FORT DEARBORN

on the inner spoon bowl circa 1830, the 'NEW' COUNTY BUILDING, FIRST NATIONAL BANK, CHICAGO'S AUDITORIUM (LATER ROOSEVELT) and the MASONIC TEMPLE BUILDING.

The Chicago County Building is devoted to the various offices of COOK COUNTY. Situated on a city block bounded by Randolph, LaSalle, Washington, and Clark streets, the 11-story structure was officially dedicated on February 27, 1911.

The spoon was manufactured shortly after the new County Building was constructed.

The spoon is in excellent condition.

A fine addition to any souvenir spoon collection and a great piece of Chicago history.
