How do I determine if my BlackBerry is "unlocked"?

From BlackBerryFAQ

To determine if your BlackBerry is "unlocked" for use on carriers other than for which it is branded:

1. On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Sim Card.

2. At that screen type MEPD (see note below) on your keyboard. A new menu will pop up.

  • If your BlackBerry has a SureType keyboard (71xx and 81xx devices) you will need to double-tap the P, so the actual keys entered become M E P P D.

3. Look for Network in the list.

4. If your device is "unlocked", it should say Disabled or Inactive. If it says Active, it's still locked to that carrier.

What is an unlock code?

If your phone is locked to your service provider and you wish to use a different GSM Provider/ SIM Card (not Nextel/Boost/Net10), then you will get a message saying "Invalid SIM Card". To fix this problem, you just need to enter my unlock code and your phone will be unlocked instantly!

Why Purchase From Me?

MOST other sellers process your codes at night and deliver them the next day. My codes are processed during the day and you will receive them on the same day you place your order. Most of the time within 10 Minutes to 2 Hours.

Unlocking your device requires NO TECHNICAL SKILL at all. You simply enter a sequence and your phone is instantly unlocked.

Terms & Conditions / Refund Policy:

Our codes are guaranteed to work or you will receive 100% of your money back!!! NO HIDDEN FEES / SHIPPING / or other COSTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR REFUND!! You are bidding on a code to unlock your specific device. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION FOR THE ACTUAL MOBILE PHONE!!

Due to the unscrupulous nature of some people that shop on eBay we do have some conditions to our refund policy:

1. Please be advised that I cannot refund any money due to the phone having a PIN (Personal Code), which is a password set by a user on the phone. If you are unsure of the code that your phone is requesting, please contact us first.

2. Phones that display 0 attempts remaining will not be refunded due to the fact that someone entered an incorrect code too many times and the phone can no longer be unlocked.

3. A refund request for unlock codes that are found must be accompanied with video proof (no photos) displaying the IMEI and the attempt to unlock the phone in a continuous video. This is unfortunately required due to some of the unscrupulous people on eBay that try to get things for free.

4. Please check the unlock status of your phone before purchasing. Refunds will not be processed for phones that were previously unlocked.
