CRESCENT SCARRED SAMURAI (1963) - THE MYSTERIOUS CAPE
Hatamoto Taikutsu Otoko, Nazo no Ryujin Misaki - The tales of Saotome Mondonosuke (the ”Bored Hatamoto” aka Crescent Scarred Samurai) have been told in over 25 films. As a Hatamoto (direct retainer of the Shogun) Mondonosuke has a crescent scar on his forehead, which is a license from the Shogun to go above and beyond the law in order to protect the Shogunate.
Cape Dragon located at the edge of the Genkai Sea is known as an isloation ward for leprosy patients. When Saotome Mondosuke hears news that a doctor has gone missing he begins to suspect that things are not what they seem. Intent on discovering the truth, he launches a private investigation.
