As a Hatamoto (direct retainer of the Shogun) Mondonosuke has a crescent scar on his forehead, which is a license from the Shogun to go above and beyond the law in order to protect the Shogunate.
Saotome Mondosuke boldly goes to rescue the young heir of Lord Date, who is marked for death by a conspiracy plot by the Shogun's Overseer and his Ninja Assassins.
