KOGARASHI MONJIRO (1972)
(aka: Withered Tree) - The adventures of Monjiro, a lone gambler with a trademark long toothpick who has neither a boss nor followers.
Monjiro follows the code of the Yakuza when he visits the home of his friend, a local boss who fought by his side against overpowering odds in the past. Together they plan to seek justice in the brutal murder of a corrupt magistrate, who also happens to be a member of the local Yakuza gang.
When things don't go as planned, Monjiro must draw his sword against paid assassins and the local Yakuza Boss who's created a living hell.
